A Word About Our Executive Chef

Willy Lopez, Executive Chef at Rocco Italian Osteria

Willy Lopez was born in Columbia and raised in Caracas, Venezuela’s capital city, in a home where cooking was as much an obsession as it was a necessity. He comes from a family of nine and learned kitchen basics at his mother’s knee. After training with an experienced Italian chef at the tender age of fifteen, he enrolled in formal cooking classes.

His passion for cooking and years of hands on training brought him on an amazing culinary journey which included ten years at Le Gourmet, a French and Italian restaurant at a 5-star, Venezuelan hotel. From there he moved to America and found himself at Poppies in New York for two years before his most recent position as Executive Chef at Trattoria II Panino in Boston’s North End. During his 13 years at II Panino, Willy has been hooking customers with his fresh, stuffed pastas and simple sauces made with vegetables and herbs.

We are proud to have Willy as the Executive Chef at Rocco Italian Osteria, where day after day, Willy’s love for cooking is evident in his mastery of authentic Italian dishes.

Buon Appetito!
